Lori Lewis Designs LAUNCHES NEW ONLINE JEWELRY BOUTIQUE AND
TSUNAMI CHARITY FUNDRAISING PROGRAM
Jewelry design company Lori Lewis Designs announced the launch of their brand new
e-commerce website today, and also kickstarted a charitable donation program to help ease
the suffering of those devastated by the South Asian earthquake and tsunami.
From now
until the company’s first anniversary on June 18, 2005, a portion of each sale’s proceeds will go
to Unicef to aid in the tsunami relief efforts.
“As much as I love my work, it wouldn’t mean
nearly as much to me if I couldn’t somehow
use it to help others,” explained Designer / CEO
Lori Lewis. “This is an time which calls for all of us to dig deeply into our pockets to help ease the suffering of those so desperately in need as a result of these tragic events. I would like to encourage everyone to donate as much as they can spare to help those so cruelly stricken by the raging destruction of the tsunami.”
The new website, located at http://www.lorilewisdesigns.com, was built by Mr. Breakfast Web Concepts and features the latest collection of handcrafted semi-precious gemstone and sterling silver or filled gold necklaces, earrings and bracelets. All of the items in the collection were made with beads carefully chosen for the healing properties of the gemstones; rose quartz for love, carnelian for happiness, and so on.
“It’s very important to me that my jewelry does more for the wearer than just look good,” says Lewis.
That attention to the metaphysical qualities of the jewelry does not translate to a sacrifice in looks, however. “My personal taste in jewelry runs to lush pieces with rich colors and lots of movement and sparkle. I like to innovate and always try to create something strikingly beautiful that will affect the wearer inside and out. I like to think of my customers as ‘conscious fashionistas’ who appreciate more than just good looks in their jewelry items.”
